In May 2004 Andrew & Kathryn decided to go on a journey which would take us around the world in seven and a half months. After planning our adventure we set off for what turned out to be the best experience of our lives.

We spent 3 months prior to our trip preparing for the journey, booking flights, researching the countries etc. This adventure was going to be a big step for both of us! Kathryn quit her job as a nursery nurse and Andrew sold his house and quit his 11yr career of a Specailist Strain Gauge Technician.

We began our journey on May 5th 2004 from Heathrow airport. Our first flight was aboard the Virgin Atlantic at 15:05 for the 11hrs 35mins journey to L.A. We stopped in L.A. to transfer to our 2nd flight aboard New Zealand airways for the 12hr flight to Tahiti.

After a short stop in Tahiti we boarded our 3rd flight which took almost 4hrs to our destination Rarotonga. After nearly 30hours of flying we have seen more flight meals and dinners than countries! But now we have arrived in the Cook Islands situated in the middle of the Pacific to begin our 7.5 month journey.
