Subject: Email 11, Bali

Hi Eveyone

We have just arrived in Singapore and had a really good week in Bali. We stayed in a town called Sanur, south of Bali in a place called Flashbacks (http://www.flashbacks-chb.com). Our accomodation was very cheap, at Rp165,000 a night (5pounds each!). We had a luxury double room, with ensuite, right next to a refreshing swimming pool and serviced every day! The price even included a breakfast.

We chartered a car and driver most of the time to see as much of Bali as possible. This was also very cheap at about Rp300,000 per day (under 10pounds each!). Over our week we visited 2 temples, one of which contained over 150 wild, cheeky monkeys. We saw one monkey steel a bottle of water then undo the top and drink it, it was so funny! We passed many rice paddies and spent an afternoon in a natural hot springs pool. We got up one morning at 01.30am to climb an active volcano and once at the top we waited to watch an
amazing sunrise before the decent. We spent an afternoon in Kuta, the busiest tourist town in Bali and we also went past the area where the Kuta nightclub bombing took place. Andrew completed another 2 scuba dives around the wreck of the USAT Liberty in Tulamben.

Last night we had dinner on the beach facing a beautiful sunset and once it got dark the beach was lit by hundreds of candlelit tables that stretched the length of the beach.

So now we can say Bali has been one of the best places we have been to so far. We would recommend it for a really good and cheap holiday!

Well we are now in Singapore and we will let you know more about the rest of our travels in the near future!
